ARMEN AT THE BAZAAR: Listen Website
Armen Bazarian is anything but a choirboy. Invigorated by the timeless power of the human voice. Armen began exploring pop songcraft in his early teens, writing and recording countless acoustic demos. He fronted rock, emo and orchestral-pop projects, and while the thrill of a band setting strengthened his confidence as a performer. He found that group dynamics ultimately obstructed his stalwart, singular vision. And thus, Armen at the Bazaar was born. Slowly, but forcefully Armen has vanquished the need for a band’s accompaniment; in the studio, by spending countless and sleepless nights honing lush orchestrations and tight arrangements; on stage, through a multi-channel looping and sampling allowing him to be his own backing band rife with layered harmonies of choral chanting, soaring guitars and tribal percussion. While he stands alone, both on the stage and in the studio, his music is anything but empty—his voice full of life and his sound full of colour.

WAXMANNEQUIN: Listen Website
Wax Mannequin was born in the smoke and industry of Hamilton; a damaged, underdog town; a perfect breeding ground for strange, variant things. Incorporating folk, scrappy prog-metal and a tireless creative ethic, Wax infused his local influences with road-broken experience to forge something unsettlingly new. Solo (accompanied by heavy devices and an angry, nylon-string guitar) Wax Mannequin has toured incessantly within Canada over the past six years, with more recent forays into Europe and Australia. Wax Mannequin now finds himself a forerunner in a strange new movement: roaming recluses and attention-seekers — solo-performers, equipped with laptops, damaged instruments and decaying minivans, making new sounds, informed by hard travel and rough living.Wax’s thought-provoking live performances and acclaimed recordings have garnered the fervent support.

SCOTT DUNBAR: Listen Website
Scott Dunbar Smashes out a beat with a rusty chain on a dirty old broiler pan and a suitcase kick drum. This one man show can upstage a full band, without a microphone. A busker on the street-corners and markets of Montréal, you’ll hear him blocks before you see him. The intensity and emotion of the voice and songs are as authentic as they come: earned and undeniably strong. Call it folk, blues, soul – there’s something for everyone in this music. There’s an idea behind this guy’s music, an old idea: a social purposefulness underlies Dunbar’s mission in music. Some stories need to be told, beauties need to be protected, social issues need discussing – exuberant joy and righteous anger must be released, and Dunbar is not afraid or ashamed to bring it to our attention. His performances are all about creating a bridge between people to have a good time while gathering around important issues.

THE KETTLE BLACK: Listen Website
The Kettle Black Ever since I was a young child, I’ve dreamed of being a T-shirt salesman. But how to make my dream a reality ? I thought, the best way to do this would be to start a band. We called ourselves “Jack Feels Fine” we practiced; we played; we toured; we made a record; we toured some more; then we broke up. I built a recording studio and recorded other bands for awhile. The Askmasters were looking for a bass player and asked me to join. Once again, we practiced; we played; we recorded an album; then we broke up. By the summer of 2003 “Bystander” had broken up (and I was the only member). Now I am called “The Kettle Black” and I own the dot com to prove it. I finished my first recording 2004 and I’m playing shows again. I play acoustic and electric guitars, bass and synth/piano, I use samples, a couple of loop stations and a drum machine. Someone said it sounded like Mr.Wrong and Neil Young jamming with Roland (formerly of Big Black) in Roger Waters living room. I don’t know but it sure is nice to be back on the road selling my T-shirts again.

MAGNANIME: Listen Website

KING BOCHEK: Listen Website
